Artist Feature: Aubrey Emi Designs

Here at Kākou Collective, we truly believe in supporting local. We were in the market for a new pencil case for our Zebra Journaling Set, and decided to purchase the 5 x 10 Floral Maverick by Aubrey Emi Designs.

Being that summer is in our very near future, we were on the lookout for something that made us think of our favorite moments. One of my fondest memories is from last summer, when my husband took my out on a stand up paddle board for the first time at Velzyland.

Although this isn’t exactly Velzyland, we loved the colors from her images online and they were very reflective of the ocean on the north shore.

Its not news to anyone that shopping local is not cheap. However, as small local shop owners ourselves, we know first hand about the positive impacts of shopping local. We know that when we shop local, our hard earned dollar will support another person within the community, their family and friends, the time it took to master their craft, and hopes and aspirations for their company and environment. We absolutely loved what she had to say in her mission statement, that her artwork is original, and that she manufactures locally.

We were most definitely happy with our purchase from Aubrey Emi Designs. We loved the packaging that included a fun cardboard cutout, a hand written note, and our Floral Maverick pouch that looks even better in person than in pictures!

We will most definitely be shopping with Aubrey Emi Designs again. I’m not sure how you guys feel about having matching sets, but I saw that this print also comes in a larger pouch version and I can’t wait to get my hands on it.
